About
British competitive freestyle swimmer who is a double Olympic gold medalist, winning gold individually in the 200-meter freestyle and as part of a team in the 4 × 200m freestyle relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics. In 2023, he won the gold medal at the 2023 British Swimming Championships in the 200-meter medley.
Before Fame
He began swimming when he was eight. He attended Sir William Borlase's Grammar School in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Bath in 2018 while training at the National Centre for Swimming in Bath.
Trivia
He has represented Great Britain at the European Junior Championships and the European Championships. He also competed at the 2020 European Championships, where he won three gold and two silver medals in the team events, as well as one individual bronze in 200m freestyle. He is quite tall, standing 6'4".
Family Life
He is the son of Jacquie Hughes and Jonathan Dean. He is the second of five children.
