French Olympian and competitive swimmer who has swam representing France and Arizona State University. He is a World record holder in the long-course 400-meter individual medley and the French record holder in the long-course 200-meter individual medley, the 200-meter butterfly, and the 200-meter breaststroke. In July 2023 he surpassed legendary swimmer Michael Phelps' last remaining world record at the World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan when he completed the 400-meter individual medley in 4:02.50 which shaved 1.34 seconds off Phelps' previous time.
Before Fame
He began swimming and training at the Nakache swimming pool at a young age. In his first individual event at his first NCAA Championships, he won his first NCAA title while also clocking the fastest 200-meter individual medley in history at 1:37.69. This made him the first person ever to go under 1:38 in the event.

He has been sponsored by OMEGA watches. His performances contributed to Arizona State's first Pac-12 swim team title in the school's history.
Family Life
He was born in Toulouse, France. He is the son of former French medley swimmers Xavier Marchand and Céline Bonnet. His father won a silver medal in the 200-meter individual medley at the 1998 World Championships before competing at the Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. He has a younger brother named Oscar.

He has been compared to swimmer Michael Phelps, who also had the same coach who coached Phelps during the peak of his career. He says he looks up to swimmer Caeleb Dressel and uses him as inspiration for his own swimming performances.
