Deep sea venturer widely distinguished with the title of "Mr. Titanic," for his foremost expertise on the ship and its submerged ruins. On the 18th of June 2023, he, along with 4 additional passengers, tragically passed away aboard the submersible vessel "Titan" due to an underwater implosion near the wreckage site.

He commenced his career as an officer in the French Navy, with a specialty in mine clearance, diving, and deep underwater intervention.

He created 2 documentaries on his topic of expertise, Titanic: The Legend Lives On in 1994 and Deep Inside the Titanic in 1999.
Family Life
He was the father of 2 daughters - Chloé and Sidonie, 1 son - Julien, and 1 stepson - John Nathaniel Paschall. He was also the grandfather to 4 grandsons. He was married to TV reporter Michele Marsh until her death in 2017. Later, he reunited with a friend from his childhood, Anne Sarraz-Bournet, whom he eventually wed.
