15th century Ottoman Turkish Sultan who is commonly known as Mehmed the Conqueror. He is remembered in history primarily for leading the conquest and siege against the city of Constantinople. The falling of the city in 1453 brought an end to the Byzantine Empire.

He was born to his father Sultan Murad II and his mother was a slave of an unknown background. He had four known sons and four known daughters with his eight consorts.

Under Mehmed's reign, he released the infamous Vlad the Impaler in order to secure an agreement with the vassal state of Wallachia.
