Brazilian rapper, writer, and philanthropist best known for having been the founder of the renowned national rap group 509-E. He has been referred to as a patron of the charitable organization known as NGO Super Ação. As a solo artist, he has also released several albums and EPs including "Salve Salve," "Abalando o Sistema," and "Motivos." He has collaborated with revered names in the Brazilian music industry, including Carlos Dafé and Ana Cañas.   

Before Fame

He formed the symbolic rap group known as 509-E while incarcerated in the Sao Paulo House of Detention, otherwise known as Carandiru. The group was named after the number of his cell during his time there. It went on to earn awards such as Revelation of the HUTUZ Award with its debut album "Proverbs 13," which was released in 1999.

Trivia

He authored the 2009 autobiography Ex-157: The History that the Media Doesn't Know. A documentary called Between the Light and the Shadow was also created about his life and career, during that same year. He developed a charitable project called Movimente which helped hundreds of underprivileged individuals, ultimately helping him earn the FUNARTE and Minc Hip Hop Culture Award in 2014.

Family Life

He was born Cristian de Souza Augusto. He was married to soul singer Simony Benelli Galasso from the year 2001 to 2004. During that time, they welcomed 2 children named Aysha and Ryan. He later remarried in 2021 to a project manager named Roberta Ronise.

Associated With

In 2003, he collaborated with fellow rapper Edi Rock on a track called "A Vida é Desafio," which has gone on to become one of the most popular songs in Brazilian rap. That same year, he joined the cast of the series Turma do Gueto, at the invitation of singer Netinho de Paula.
