First founded as the Boston Braves, the team was known as the Washington Redskins from 1937 until the 2019 NFL season. The franchise won three Super Bowl titles in 1982, 1987 and 1991. In July 2020, the franchise announced it was changing its name to the Washington Football Team.
The team reached the postseason eight times between 1982-83 and 1992-93, winning 16 playoff games while only losing 5 during that span.
