Expansion franchise which became the first of the four major American sports to have a professional team in Las Vegas, Nevada. Gerard Gallant was named the inaugural head coach. In 2023, the franchise captured its first-ever Stanley Cup championship, defeating the Florida Panthers in a five-game series.
Trivia
The mascot for the team is a Gila monster named Chance. The team reeled off an 8-game win streak in their first season, by far the longest for an expansion team.
