About
Founded as the Toledo University of Arts and Trades, the school would become best known as a public research university. It originally closed after only six years, and reopened in 1884 as the Toledo Manual Training School.
Trivia
In English, the motto of the school reads "Guide to the Present, Moulder of the Future." The school would also operate a 450-acre Health Science campus.
