Zulay Rodriguez Lu

Panamanian lawyer, professor, and politician of the Democratic Revolutionary Party best known as the deputy for Circuit 8-6. On July 1, 2019, she was elected First Vice President of the National Assembly.

Before Fame

In the year 1992, she received her degree in law and political science at the Santa María La Antigua Catholic University. She also earned a master's degree in procedural law at the University of Panama and a master's in environmental law from the University of London.

She has worked as a professor of human rights and politics, social thought, and criminal law at Santa María La Antigua Catholic University.

Family Life

She is the daughter of Gladis Lu and former Attorney General Rafael Rodríguez.

Associated With

In the PRD primary in September of 2018, she received 18% of votes. She was surpassed by Laurentino Cortizo with 68%, but she finished ahead of former President Ernesto Pérez Balladares, who ranked third with 7%.
