Her singing and original compositions usually have a feminist edge, celebrating but also shining a light on the intricate nuances of Tunisia's status as the Arabic nation with the most freedoms given to women. She is faithful to the traditional Tunisian mezoued music genre that features a bagpipge-like instrument, percussion backing, and lyrics usually sung in the classic Arabic dialect.  

Before Fame

Born Zeineb Sawen, Zaza is her show name. She graduated from The University of Sfax with a degree in business. She pivoted in the year 2010 to focus on her dreams of pursuing a career in music performance and songwriting. She had a prominent role in the movie STREAMS which premiered at the Cairo International Film Festival. The film received an acting award for one of her costars and was a smash success.

Her Facebook account sawen.zeineb has an impressive 1.3 million followers and her jovial TikTok account under her stage name has more than 550,000 followers. She is multi-lingual speaking both her primary language Arabic and French, as well, speaking to the colonial history between the two nations.

She is fiercely protective of her family's security and privacy. She is married and has two children.
