Professional catcher that was drafted by the Chicago White Sox during the first round of the 2016 Major League Draft. He was later signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates in September 2022. During his professional career, he has also played for the Toronto Blue Jays.
Before Fame
Prior to being drafted, he attended the University of Miami where he played for three seasons. At the conclusion of his junior year, he was named the 2016 Johnny Bench Award winner for being best catcher in the NCAA.
Trivia
As a kid, he won a gold medal during the 2011 World Youth Baseball Championships in Mexico as a member of the United States U-16 team. His team defeated Cuba in the championship match. During his college career, he earned accolades as the ACC's Freshman of the Year.
