She first captured the attention of film audiences with her portrayal of Margareta Lieven in the 1950 drama Jack of Hearts. More recently, she appeared in the 2022 stop-motion animated anthology film The House.

She studied at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Sweden. It was there that she met and trained with acclaimed actor Max von Sydow.
