Known best for her roles in such Mozart and Handel operas as, respectively, The Magic Flute and Semele, this Australian-born soprano performed at such world famous venues as London's Royal Opera House and the Sydney Opera House.
Before Fame
After briefly studying biochemistry at the University of Sydney, she enrolled at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and went on to train at La Scala in Milan, Italy. She made her professional debut in a 1975 Opera Rara concert at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Trivia
She appeared in her first Royal Opera House production, composer Hans Werner Henze's We Come to the River, in 1976.
