About
As the first President of the Republic of China in 1912, he was responsible for ending the Qing dynasty rule of China. He also created China's first modern army.

He began his military and political his career in the Huai Army.
Trivia
He attempted to reinstate the hereditary monarchy with himself as Emperor in the year 1915. When he passed away, it ended the China's central authority of the Beiyang government.

He had 17 sons and 15 daughters. He married both Yu Yishang and Yuan Shikai.
