Stand-up comedian, activist, internet personality, and podcast host most illustriously known for hosting the Feeling Asian and Hairy Butthole podcasts, both of which focus primarily on Asians experiences living in America. Some of the many topics upon which she touches include generational trauma, Asian stereotypes, translation complications, racism, and dating. 

Before Fame

Prior to the launch of her podcasts and before venturing on her journey toward becoming a successful comic, she and her ex-husband were the creators of 2 successful restaurants. Together, they founded the massively popular eateries Mission Cantina and Mission Chinese, the latter of which was named Best New Restaurant by The New York Times in 2012. During that period, she briefly served at Mission Chinese and spent a short time working as a food writer.

Trivia

Her Feeling Asian podcast was the recipient of accolades following the COVID-19 pandemic for its candid discourse and examination of anti-Asian hate. Her podcast was ranked at number three on the list of Top Ten Podcasts that Answered Our Biggest Questions in the year 2021 published by CNN.

Family Life

She is the mother of a son named Mino, who she had with her ex-husband Danny Bowien.
