Before Fame
She joined several choirs when she was in middle school. She began participating in musical theater when she was 11 years old. She won a competition in high school which resulted in her releasing a cover of the Celine Dion song "Love is On the Way" in 1999. She then began pursuing music as a career and released her hit single "Blue Jeans" in 2002.

She was introduced to music at a young age by her father who played drums in a band. She appeared in the music competition show The Half & Half FastTrak in the year 2005. She appeared in multiple unaired episodes of the show Hi-5 in 2006 and 2007.

She was born in Oakland, California. She was raised in Oahu, Hawaii. Her brother is actor Sterling Sulieman.
