Yanni Gourde

Professional center and forward that was originally signed by the Tampa Bay Lightning as an undrafted free agent in 2014. He was later selected by the Seattle Kraken during the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft. While playing with the Kraken, he was given the honor of being named alternate captain. 

Before Fame

As a child growing up, he often played in the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament. During his teenage and young adult years, he later joined the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Trivia

He made his official NHL debut playing against the Toronto Maple Leafs on December 15, 2015, as a member of the Lightning. He finished his rookie season with 25 goals, which is the most goals soced by a rookie in Lightning's franchise history. 

Family Life

He grew up living with his family in the Saint-Narcisse, Canada area. He was named after the famous Greek composer Yanni. He is a father, and married to a woman named Marie-Andrée.

He broke Brad Richards's rookie record of 24 goals during the 2015-2016 NHL season.
