Austrian criminal who is known for his crime of abducting ten-year-old Natascha Kampusch and holding her hostage for eight years.

Before Fame

He was reported to be a loner, aloof, and odd growing up and into adulthood. He worked as a communications technician. He kidnapped Natascha Kampusch on the date of March 2nd, 1998. 

Trivia

He built and created a secret and sound-proof cellar beneath his home, which is where he kept Natascha Kampusch. The only person he reportedly talked to as an adult was his mother. A large portion of Kampusch's time upstairs was spent doing housework for Přiklopil and cooking for him. Dietmar Ecker, Kampusch's media advisor, said that Přiklopil "would beat her so badly that she could hardly walk". Přiklopil would starve her to make her physically weak and unable to escape.

Family Life

He was born and raised in Vienna, Austria. His parents were Karl and Waltraud Priklopil. He was an only child. He committed suicide after Natascha Kampusch escaped from him and after an active police chase.
