American artist whose primary medium is paint, but has also worked in fashion and film. He's been active since the mid-80s and his work has been collected by Bill Clinton, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Eminem, to name a few.
Before Fame
From 1980-85 he attended Philadelphia College of Art as well as spending a year abroad at the Tyler School of Art in Rome. He went on to study Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania. Immediately after graduating from the Philadelphia College of Art, now University of the Arts, he made his first exhibition opening for Andy Warhol in 1985 at the Henry S. McNeil Gallery.
Trivia
He traveled to Los Angeles in the late nineties to work in film and served as Art Director for films including Punch the Clock and Dark Side of Genius and music videos including Madonna's "Oh Father," "Express Yourself" and "Like a Prayer," as well as Prince's "Gett Off" and Paula Abdul's "Straight Up."
Family Life
He's been based in New York City as well as East Hampton and featured his mother in a painting he showcased on his Instagram in a Mother's Day post.
