Before Fame
He attended the University of Houston, where he graduated with a double major in both theater and language. He joined the Alley Theater Company after graduation and began a prolific stage-acting career. His first film role was in Hellfighters (1968).
Trivia
He appeared in an episode of the soap opera All My Children, where he played a minister. He also served in the Korean War prior to really starting his acting and performing career. His favorite performance was in the miniseries Separate But Equal (1991).
Family Life
He was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He married Susan Shofner in the year 1981 and they had three children together. He passed away on October 14th, 2008 after a battle with cancer.
