Journalist and political lobbyist who famously worked as an aide to the Kennedy family and assisted in the founding of the Peace Corps. He assisted in the presidential campaigns of both John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy. He also served as the inspector general for the Office of Economic Opportunity from 1964 to 1966.

He earned a bachelor's degree from Columbia College in 1954 and later went on to study at the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism.
