Career criminal who spent years in and out of prison before landing there on a life sentence in July of 2019. He was charged with five counts of murder and one count of manslaughter. His first major crime came with the kidnapping of Freddy Heineken, beer heir, for a ransom of nearly $20 million. He was convicted of the crime in 1983 and spent 11 years in prison. Then there was the extortion of Willem Endstra, who was murdered in 2004 after an argument with Holleeder. This time he was sentenced to 9 years in prison, beginning in 2007. He was released in 2012, but was arrested again in 2013, 2015, and 2016. His life sentence finally ended his violent spree.

The Heineken kidnapping turned him from an unknown street criminal to a known mastermind.
Trivia
He was nicknamed "De Neus", or "the nose", because of his prominent nose. His cohort in the Heineken kidnapping, Cor van Hout, was a school friend and classmate who engaged in petty crime with him. He and Hout successfully got their ransom payment but were later tracked down by police.
Family Life
His father, Wim Holleeder, worked for Heineken before being fired due to alcoholism. He has a sister named Sonja.
