English actor and radio presenter who was popular in the mid-twentieth century. He worked as a radio presenter for the BBC during World War II and spoke with a distinct accent to make it more difficult for Nazis to impersonate British radio broadcasters. He was best-known for hosting the BBC radio show Have a Go, which ran from 1946 to 1967.

He began his career as a radio announcer for the BBC's North Regional radio service.

He acted in numerous television productions including Dr. Finlay's Casebook and For the Love of Ada. He died in Brighton, England on March 27th, 1978 at the age of 73.
