His songwriting credits with the Beastie Boys include "Finger Lickin' Good," "Sure Shot," and "Three MCs and One DJ." He supported his first solo album by opening for the Beastie Boys on their 1995 tour. As well as the Beastie Boys, he has worked with such prominent stars as Talib Kweli and Kool G Rap. He became friends with the Beastie Boys while working as a bodyguard, and he eventually worked as their exclusive DJ for over a decade.
