Former professional basketball player nicknamed The Dutch Cookie who played as a shooting guard and small forward in the National Basketball Association and other leagues worldwide. He was chosen by the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the 2005 NBA draft. He went on to play for eight different NBA teams over the course of his career including the Denver Nuggets, the Portland Trail Blazers, the Boston Celtics, and the Orlando Magic. He also played for international teams in China, Greece, Russia, and Italy.
Before Fame
He was invited by the coach of the Arkansas Wings AAU team to play for them the summer prior to his senior high school year. His athletic skills had previously flown largely under the radar until then. However, this invitation allowed him to earn a much greater audience, and he had become one of many college recruiters' top ten senior players by the end of the summer.
Trivia
After enrolling at Florida State University, he became the seventh McDonald's High School All-American to ever play for the school. In the McDonald's All-American Slam-Dunk Contest in the year 2003, he scored eight points, finishing second to future NBA icon LeBron James. He stands 6'5" and weighs 220 pounds.
Family Life
His birth name is Vakeaton Quamar Wafer. After his parents' divorce, he spent most of his childhood living with his mother Doris Zeigler in Newport News, VA. However, he relocated to his father Ray Johnson's home in Homer, LA during the summer prior to his freshman year in high school.
