Actor and entrepreneur who starred in numerous films within the Tamil cinematic industry throughout his decades-long career. He has portrayed leading roles in films such as Amma Ponnu, Kizhakku Cheemayile, Uzhavan, Chellakannu, Aaruthra, and many others. He has also played television roles such as Rangarajan on the show Enga Veetu Meenakshi and Sakthivel on Sun TV's series Poove Unakkaga and Roja. 

Before Fame

He was initially meant to commence his professional acting career in early 1992, as he was cast in the leading role of the Balu Mahendra-directed film Vanna Vanna Pookkal. After having recorded for over a week, however, he was replaced by actor Prashanth, and his debut was slightly delayed until he appeared in the film Chinna Thayee later that year.

Trivia

Despite the fact that he has spent virtually the entirety of his acting career in Tamil cinema, he portrayed the role of Robert in the 1996 Malayalam film Naalamkettile Nalla Thampimar. 

Family Life

His birth name is Raja. He married Uma Maheshwari.

Associated With

He was offered the lead role in a film written by his then-roommate Bala Palanisamy called Sethu in the mid-1990s. However, when the production company faced financial setbacks, the movie was put on hold. By the time filming restarted, he had been replaced for the role by actor Vikram.
