Crown Princess of Sweden, Duchess of Västergötland and heir to the Swedish throne. She has attended the regular Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs and the information councils with Government ministers. In 2016, she was appointed a member of Sustainable Development Goals Advocates for Agenda 2030, one of 16 ambassadors.
Before Fame
She was born in Solna, Stockholm County, Sweden. She was designated crown princess in 1979. From 1998-2000 she studied at Yale University in Connecticut. In 2009 she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Uppsala University.
Trivia
While in America, she interned at the Swedish embassy in Washington D.C. She speaks English, Swedish, French and German. She was made Crown Princess in January of 1980 with an amendment to the Act of Succession of 1810, ensuring that the eldest child inherits the throne regardless of gender. She, her father and brother have dyslexia. She also suffered from eating disorders.
Family Life
Her full name is Victoria Ingrid Alice Désirée. She is the eldest child of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden. She has a younger brother, Carl Philip. Her godparents include Harald V of Norway, her maternal uncle. She married Daniel Westling, her personal trainer, in 2010; they have two children together, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar.
