Business executive and philanthropist. From 1977 to 1993, he served as Chairman of Waddingtons, a British manufacturer of board games and card games. He began working for Waddingtons in 1951 after completing his service in the military. In his role as philanthropist, he worked with children's hospices and the University of Leeds.

He attended Clare College, which is part of the University of Cambridge.

Family Life
Games were something of a family business. His grandfather was Victor Hugo Watson, a businessman who acquired the rights to Monopoly in 1934. His father, Norman Watson, helped make Cluedo a household name. In 1952, he married Sheila May Bryan. They went on to have two daughters, Sally and Amanda.
