American singer, vocalist, musician, artist, performer, and entertainer who initially gained fame for her 1976 hit, "Turn the Beat Around." In the year 1994, Gloria Estefan sang her version of the song. She also appeared in the films, Going Home and To Find A Man.

Before Fame

She made her performance debut in the year 1960 at the age of six, when she accompanied her mother on stage at the Philadelphia Folk Festival. 

Trivia

At the young age of 16, while attending New Lincoln School, she joined the Broadway cast of the musical Hair alongside cast members such as Peter AllenBarry Bostwick, and Nell Carter. In 2011, Gold Legion.com digitally remastered and reissued Robinson's four albums for RCA Records on CD, along with bonus tracks and liner notes.
