Canadian marathon swimmer who is known for such achievements as being the first person to ever swim across all five Great Lakes. She is also the first to ever butterfly swim across the English Channel, and long held the record for longest continuous swim in a pool at over 2 hours.

She achieved her first world record when she crossed Lake Ontario in 1985.
