About
Radio, film, and television actor who rose to fame as the "Control Voice" in the original television series The Outer Limits in the 1960s. He also provided narration for a number of special entertainment projects including the Spaceship Earth and Universe of Energy rides at Epcot at the Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL.
Before Fame
In the late 1930s, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He moved to California quickly thereafter.
Trivia
He provided the voice for a long list of animated roles, including numerous characters on the television series Scooby-Doo and Johny Quest. He worked at both NBC and ABC throughout his career. He also wrote and co-wrote a handful of scripts throughout his life. He also did work on commercials.
Family Life
He first married Evelyn Held in 1963, and after her death, he married Rita Singer, with whom they had a son named George. He also adopted a stepson from her previous marriage named Steven.
