As a senior in high school, he was named Mr. Basketball for the state of Virginia. He was also named a McDonald's All-American that season.
Trivia
He made his official NBA debut as a member of the Pistons while playing against the Cleveland Cavaliers on December 28, 2011. He scored just two points in a 105-89 Pistons loss. Shortly after retiring in 2021, he then began his professional coaching career as an assistant with the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus.
