About
Former Olympic long jumper and sprinter that primarily competed in the Women's 4x100 relay and 100 meter events. She was a multi-time European World Champion and a member of the Soviet Union women's national team. After retiring, she then became an athletics coach for children.

She initially began her professional track & field career during the 1950's.
Trivia
She won her first and only Olympic gold medal in 1960 during the Women's Long jump event in Rome, Italy. She jumped an Olympic record 6.37 meters.
Family Life
She grew up living with her family in Kotelnich, Russia. She later moved with her own family to Kyiv, Ukraine.
