American rock and grunge musician, artist, performer, entertainer, guitarist, and instrumentalist who is known for being the bassist for Screaming Trees, in addition to several other music projects, bands, and groups including Solomon Grundy and Gardener.
Before Fame
He played bass in high school. He helped form the band Explosive Generation while in high school. Explosive Generation evolved into Screaming Trees in the year 1985, and soon the band became well known in the grunge scene of Seattle.
Trivia
He worked as a computer programmer in addition to being a musician. He frequently played alongside Dinosaur Jr. and toured with them often.
Family Life
He was born in Apple Valley, California but was raised in Ellensburg, WA. He had one brother, Gary Lee Conner, who was also part of Screaming Trees. He died from pneumonia on January 17, 2023.
Associated With
He performed in Screaming Trees with Mark Lanegan as the lead singer. Kurt Cobain admired Screaming Trees, and Soundgarden's Chris Cornell co-produced Screaming Trees's album Uncle Anesthesia (1991).
