Singer, songwriter, and actress best known for her roles in films such as Just Married and Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit. For the latter, she co-wrote the song "Pay Attention." She also recorded soundtrack titles such as, "Rhythm of the Night" for Moulin Rouge and "Ooh La La" for Legally Blonde. She has appeared in television series such as George Lopez and American Family. 

Before Fame

At just three years of age, she began singing in street performances and talent competitions. As a child, she performed at the Sydney Opera House and in the titular role of Annie. She moved to the United States at 11 years old, where she performed on Venice boardwalk to earn enough money to survive. Her father was deported when she was still a teen, and she became a ward of the court until she was 18.

Trivia

She released her debut album Freshly Squeezed in the year 2009. It is an energetic pop record and features collaborators such as Theron Thomas and Lady Gaga. 

Family Life

Her mother was from Uruguay and her father was from Australia. They divorced when she was very young. She moved to the United States with her father when she was 11 years old. 

Associated With

She became well-known for her breakthrough dance single "Girl I Told Ya," which was featured on the popular television series Gossip Girl, starring Blake Lively and Leighton Meester. She co-stars with pop singer Aria Crescendo in the music video for the song, which was filmed in Hungary by director Marc Webb.
