English actor known for his work on film, television, and radio productions such as The Haunting, The City of the Dead, and voicing roles in The Man in Black and the original version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. His last appearance was released posthumously in 1985 after his death at age 77, for the Doctor Who radio-based show Slipback.

He and his father appeared in a movie together, the 1943 film about a German U-boat commander called Yellow Canary. Throughout his career as an actor, he appeared in more than 125 different projects. In a handful of projects, he served as a narrator.

His parents, Franklin Dyall and Mary Phyllis Joan Logan were also actors. He was married three times, to Marjorie Stonor, Babette Jones, and Kathleen E. Woodman. He had three children.
