Professional catcher that was originally drafted by the Houston Astros during the eighth round of the 2012 Major League Draft. He was later signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates in May 2022. He has also caught in the Toronto Blue Jays, Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, Miami Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers and Arizona Diamondbacks organizations.
Before Fame
Prior to being drafted, he attended UCLA where he played college baseball for three seasons. During his junior year, he was given the Johnny Bench Award for being the best catcher in college baseball.
Trivia
He is one of few MLB batters that can switch hit. In fact, less than 15 percent of all MLB batters in 2022 were able to switch hit. Coming out of high school, he was lightly recruited.

He is a native of the Pacific Palisades, California area. He is the oldest of two siblings.
