Before Fame
He attended the University of Arizona, where he earned dual Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in film production and studio art, with a focus on photography, in 2004. He collaborated with the comedy group Chad, Matt & Rob beginning in 2009. He worked on various projects with the group as a director, producer, writer, editor, and cinematographer. His big directing break came when he directed a sequence in the film V/H/S in 2012.
Trivia
His early experiences watching horror films such as Alien during his childhood sparked his love for the genre and influenced his directorial style. He has directed several short films for comedy theater groups, including The Groundlings.
