Australian folk artist who was known mostly for being a former member of the folk group, Fairpoint Convention. He was also a founding member of the band, Fotheringay. He remained mostly within the underground scene in Australia, making solo albums and composing music for films.
Before Fame
Before his career took off, he worked as a carpentry apprentice during the day and played clubs at night with his guitar. He completed his apprenticeship in 1963, by which time his music career had begun in earnest. Thus, he never actually worked as a carpenter.
Trivia
He released his first solo album, "See That My Grave Is Kept Clean" in 1964. He learned how to play guitar to help combat his dyslexia.
Family Life
He married three times and had three children, one with each wife.
