Brazilian actor and singer who is best known for his songs "BR-3," "Podes Crer, Amizade" and "Me libertei" as well as his roles in Pixote, The Formula and Carandiru. He is also known as one of the first artists to introduce soul music and funk in Brazilian music.
Before Fame
At age 11, he ran away from home and ended up in Rio de Janeiro where he became a street kid and made a living selling peanuts and shining shoes. At 18, he served in the Deodoro School of Parachuting alongside future tv presenter Silvio Santos.
