French-American actress and director best known for her 1999 romantic comedy film Venus Beauty Institute. She made her directorial debut with the 1989 comedy film Pentimento. Before that, she had acted in numerous television series and films.

One of her earliest parts was in a 1971 episode of the comedy series Les saintes chéries.

Trivia

She won the César Award for Best Director for her work on Venus Beauty Institute. The film launched Audrey Tautou's acting career. Even while she pursued acting as a career, she knew that she wanted to be involved with film as a writer and producer. She drew influence from film-maker Jacques Demy. 

Family Life

She was the daughter of actor William Marshall and actress Micheline Presle. Her niece is model and actress Sarah Marshall.

She worked alongside Michèle Morgan on the cast of the television miniseries Le tiroir secret.
