Composer and Irish fiddler also known as Tommie who was best known for his take on Irish music by combining jazz and classical music. He saw Irish music as an art form and not just dance music. He became known after his death in 2012 when the compilation album Tommie Potts - Traditional Fiddle Music from Dublin was released with digital remasters. 

Before Fame

He was a was a firefighter with Dublin Corporation, and was injured in the Pearse Street fire in 1936.

Trivia

The only commercial recording released in his lifetime was The Liffey Banks by Claddagh Records in 1972. He was the subject of the documentary called Tommy Potts - Cérbh É? by TG4 in 2009.
