Scottish football player and manager known for playing as a fullback for the Celtic FC, where he helped win the 1966-67 European Cup for his team by scoring the first Celtic goal in the final. He was also known for managing Dundee and Albion Rovers.
Before Fame
He played soccer in his youth and began playing soccer on a professional juvenile level as a teenager. He joined Celtic FC in October 1961. He made 418 appearances for Celtic and scored 63 goals while he was with the team.
Trivia
He was the author of the book Lion Heart (2012). He also scored a goal in the 1970 European Cup final.
Family Life
He was born in Craigneuk, Scotland, but raised in Lanarkshire. He died on March 2nd, 2017 after suffering from a long illness.
