About
Former Danish race car driver with the current record for most wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with 9 wins, 6 of which were consecutive. He also holds the record for the most wins at the 12 Hours of Sebring, with 6 wins. In August 2014, he was appointed Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog by the Queen of Denmark. In January 2018, he was inducted into the Danish Sports Hall of Fame. In 2019, he was inducted into the FIA Hall of Fame. He retired in 2014.
Before Fame
He was born in Hobro, Denmark. He started racing in 1984. In the 90s, he traveled to Japan and Germany to race in the Formula 3, where he was champion of both.
Trivia
In April of 2007, he was involved in a car accident in Hockenheim Germany which nearly broke his neck, leading to a necessary pause in racing for him. He managed to fully recover, partly in thanks to the type of collar in his car, and was able to participate in the 2007 Le Mans Race. He has the nickname Mr. Le Mans, and is widely considered to be the best driver to have ever raced at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

His wife is Hanne Andersen, and they have 3 kids named Carla Malou, Oswald and Oliver. His parents are Carl Erik Kristensen and Kirsten Kristensen. His brother is Jacon Kristensen.
