Soccer manager and former professional midfielder who was declared manager of the Swedish football club Skövde AIK in November of 2020. He notably played for the Swedish national team in two FIFA World Cups and two UEFA European Championships. He also played for professional teams including Idrottsföreningen Elfsborg, Stabæk Fotball, Everton FC, FC Copenhagen, and Galatasaray Spor Kulübü before retiring from his on-field career in 2010 due to injury.
Before Fame
He started his amateur career in 1985 with the Swedish club Mjällby Allmänna Idrottsförening's youth academy, where he remained until 1992. He later played in the youth academies of IFK Hässleholm and Feyenoord Rotterdam before making his senior career debut with IFK Hässleholm in 1995.
Trivia
During his on-field career, he was named Swedish Midfielder of the Year in both 2006 and 2007. He helped FC Copenhagen win two Danish Superliga Championships and two in the Royal League. He also assisted Galatasaray in its 2008 win of the Turkish Super Cup.
Family Life
When he was born, his father Anders Linderoth was a midfielder for the Ligue 1 club Olympique de Marseilles. His father competed in the 1978 FIFA World Cup and went on to become a professional soccer coach. He welcomed his first child with his wife Maria in October of 2006.
