Abundantly celebrated and accomplished saxophonist, recording artist, and educator who has earned substantial acclaim for albums including "Gentle Warrior," "A Sentimental Journey," "Tim Warfield's Jazzy Christmas," "Eye of the Beholder," and "Jazzland." He has been a member of Pennsylvania's Council for the Arts since 2018. He has also acted as assistant professor & coordinator of the Jazz Masters of Music graduate program at Philadelphia's Temple University. He has performed with countless esteemed artists such as Dizzy Gillespie, Dakota Staton, Donald Byrd, and Isaac Hayes.
Before Fame
He began playing the alto saxophone when he was just nine years old. He started studying the tenor saxophone as a teen. He attended William Penn Sr. High School and Howard University. Throughout his attendance at both schools, he earned multiple awards as a jazz soloist. In 1991, he was chosen by the Island/Antilles record label to perform on its recording of "Tough Young Tenors," which went on to reach number five on Billboard's Top 100 Jazz charts and be named as one of the New York Times Top Ten Recordings of the Year.
Trivia
Penn State University awarded him with the Jazz Legends Award in 2013. He received the title of Tenor Saxophonist of the Year from The Clef Club of Jazz and the Performing Arts in 2015. In 2023, he was also named one of York County's Most Influential Artists & Entertainers by the York Daily Record.

Associated With
His 2015 Criss Cross Jazz recording "Spherical" also featured pianist Orrin Evans. It was created as a tribute to the late jazz legend Thelonious Monk. Performers on some of his additional recordings include Jamie Davis, Cyrus Chestnut, and Kevin Hays.
