About
Former NASCAR racer and athlete that competed professionally for 13 years. During his professional career, he won championships at the ARCA Re/Max Series and the NAMRA Champ Car division. In the year 1993, he was named the ARCA Rookie of the Year.
Before Fame
He first discovered his passion for racing as a young boy coming up. As a kid, he competed in the 125cc AMA motocross division.
Trivia
In the year 2009, he was named to the Michigan Motor Sports Hall of Fame. During his professional career, he was a three-time champion. In the year 1994, Steele competed in five Winston Cup Series races in a car owned by Bobby Allison only managing a best finish of 33rd at Pocono. He attempted to qualify for the inaugural Brickyard 400, but failed.
Family Life
Growing up, he lived with his parents and his sister in Coopersville, Michigan. He is a father of two children. He died in early 2024 at the age of 55.
