Guitarist and vocalist who gained recognition for his work with Brave Belt and Bachman-Turner Overdrive, the latter of which he was a founding member. During his administration with both bands, he wrote or co-wrote numerous songs including "Down and Out Man," "Blown," "I Don't Have to Hide" and "Put it in a Song."
Before Fame
Although he played guitar for several local bands throughout his youth, he eventually took a hiatus from the music industry to attend college and obtain employment. He returned to music in 1972 to replace the recently departed Chad Allan from Brave Belt.
Trivia
Following his resignation from the music industry, he became a realtor in British Columbia. He eventually earned the title of director of the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board from 2003 until 2008, when he began experiencing health complications.
Family Life
He was the father of guitarist Paxton Bachman and the uncle of musician Tal Bachman. He was also the brother of Bachman-Turner Overdrive (aka BTO) founding members Robbie and Randy Bachman.
Associated With
He joined fellow BTO founding members Randy Bachman and Fred Turner for a world tour which opened for Van Halen in 1984.
