Before Fame

He attended Harvard University and earned a master's degree from the London School of Economics. He earned his law degree at the University of California.

Trivia

After graduation, he worked at a civil law firm before joining the Orange County District Attorney's Office. In the year 1992, he started his own firm and began doing criminal defense work. He has been named "Criminal Defense Lawyer of the Year" by the Criminal Courts Bar Association, Los Angeles and the Century City Bar Association, Los Angeles, and he has been listed as one of the "One Hundred Most Influential Attorneys in California" by the Los Angeles Daily Journal.

Family Life

In the year 2015, he married Alice Wang. They have a daughter named Elaina Liu.
