Former music manager, label owner, and talent scout that was often referred to by his stage name, Colonel Parker. He and his former business partner, Hank Snow, created Hank Snow Enterprises and Jamboree Attractions during the 1950s, which would eventually become RCA Records. He was Elvis Presley's manager from 1956 until Elvis' death in 1977.
Before Fame
Prior to a career in the music industry, he served in the United States army for nearly two years before going AWOL. A few years later in 1938, he became a musical promotor for Gene Austin.
Trivia
In 1948, he once received the rank of Honorary colonel in the state of Louisiana from former state governor and musician Jimmie Davis. After Elvis' unfortunate death in August 1977, he was officially named in charge of Presley's estate. He was portrayed by Tom Hanks in the 2022 movie Elvis.
Family Life
He was born and raised primarily in the small town of Breda, Netherlands where he lived with his parents. During the midst of traveling across the United States for work, he eventually met his wife, Marie Francis Mott, in 1935.
